A day trip to Lake Manyara National Park is an exciting chance to get a feel for the real Africa. Lake Manyara is an unspoiled paradise of groundwater lakes fed by underground springs and teeming with wildlife.One of Africa’s premier birding destinations, it’s also a fantastic place to see Africa’s most iconic animals from massive elephants and cape buffalo to the famous tree-climbing lions who call the park home.
The trip begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. From there, we drive straight to Lake Manyara National Park, a journey of about two and a half hours.Driving through the park is an exciting and adventurous experience. Here, you might get surprisingly close to the animals—sometimes without even realizing it! So, keep your eyes and ears open.
After having lunch in the park, we’ll head out for another game drive to search for any animals we may have missed, making sure to check off as many incredible wildlife encounters as possible. At the end of the day, we’ll prepare for the drive back to Arusha.
